2013 Annual Congressional Art Competition03/12/13
Washington – Congressman Bill Shuster is pleased to announce this year’s kickoff of the Annual Congressional Art Competition of 2013.
“Each year this contest is a highlight of the Congressional Calendar. It allows each member of Congress to showcase the artistic talent of high school students in their districts and acknowledges their talent,” said Shuster.
Congressman Shuster’s office will be working with the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Loretto, where the museum will be showcasing all entries from Thursday, April 11th to Sunday, April 21st.
Each school in the 9th Congressional District may submit one piece of student art to represent the talents of the school. All art must be delivered to the Hollidaysburg district office located at 310 Penn Street, Suite 200, Hollidaysburg, PA by Friday, April 5, 2013.
All entries should reflect a theme associated with the 9th District (for example; a place, attraction, person, event, scene, etc.) since the artwork will be representing the district. All pieces may be no larger that 28”x 28”x 4 including the frame. This will ensure the winner’s art will be accepted when submitted to Washington, DC.
