Shuster on January Unemployment NumbersFriday February 01, 2013
Washington – Congressman Bill Shuster issued the following statement today regarding the latest January unemployment report release by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate rose once again to 7.9%.
“It’s the start of a new year, but it’s the same old story; too many Americans are out of work. President Obama refuses to make job creation and the welfare of the American people a priority. Just yesterday, he disbanded his Jobs Council even though the economy contracted in the final quarter of 2012 and the unemployment rate ticked up once again,” said Shuster.
“House Republicans have been working towards real solutions and it’s time for the President and Senate Democrats to come to the table and work together to grow our economy.”
