House Votes to Begin Tax Reform Conference Negotiations

WASHINTON – The House of Representatives voted 222-192 today to formally begin conference negotiations with the Senate on H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg), who voted for the house-passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, voted for the motion and said he is encouraged by the progress Congress is making on tax reform.

“Hopefully President Trump will be signing pro-growth tax reform by the end of the year,” said Congressman Shuster. “There are a few details yet to be hammered out, but I’m confident the House and Senate can reconcile their differences and deliver this landmark piece of legislation for President Trump to sign in his first year of office.”
