Shuster Announces Staff Changes

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – U.S. Representative Bill Shuster announced today new staff changes in his Washington, D.C. office and his western field office in Fayette County.

Congressman Shuster announced Melissa Buchanan will serve as Legislative Director in his Washington, D.C. office and assist Shuster with House Armed Services Committee issues. Buchanan previously served as Legislative Director for Congressman Ed Whitfield (KY-01) and has extensive experience in national defense and transportation policy.

Rebekah Sungala will be joining the Washington, D.C. office as Executive Assistant. A native of Washington County, Sungala has served 9th District constituents in the western field office for five years as Western Field Representative and Community Outreach Coordinator.

Patty Yauger has been named Western Field Representative, and will be based in Fayette County serving constituents in the southwestern portion of the district. Yauger is well versed in the issues important to the Monongahela Valley. Prior to joining Congressman Shuster’s office, she spent 30 years reporting in Fayette County for the Uniontown Herald-Standard newspaper, including six years as the government and political reporter.

Tyler Menzler, a native of Donora in Washington County, will serve as Legislative Assistant handling transportation issues in Congressman Shuster’s Washington office. Menzler joins the office from the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and previously worked in Pennsylvania politics.
