Shuster Applauds Pro Life Advocates at March for Life01/27/17
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg) released the following statement regarding the thousands of people from across the country in Washington, DC today for the largest pro-life march in the world, March for Life.
“The pro-life movement is becoming larger and more vocal each year in standing up for those without a voice and advancing pro life policies at every level of government,” said Congressman Shuster. “This year is going to be a little different and that is great news for the movement. We have a president that is going to work side by side Congress on ensuring our pro-life legislation gets signed into law.”
This last week has been very positive in efforts to protect the unborn. The House passed legislation Congressman Shuster cosponsored, H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. This legislation prevents taxpayer funding from being used for abortions. Additionally, President Trump renewed President Reagan’s Mexico City policy. This executive order bans taxpayer money from funding abortions abroad.
“The thousands of people marching today should be applauded,” continued Shuster. “They are on the front lines in a fight we need to win, and I’ll continue working with them to oppose abortion and protect the unborn.”
