Trump Executive Order Upholds Commitment to Coal Country03/28/17
WASHINGTON, DC- Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg) released the following statement regarding President Trump’s signing of an Executive Order to call for a review of the Clean Power Plan (CPP). This is an important step in rolling back the burdensome regulations on our domestic energy industry that were created by the CPP. Present at the EO signing at the EPA today were several coal miners from Rosebud's Brush Valley Mine in Indiana County.
“I was a fierce opponent of the Obama Administration’s Clean Power Plan because of the destruction it would have on our region’s coal industry. President Trump’s Executive Order upholds the commitment he made to reverse the radical policies that were harming the middle class, domestic energy production, and the economy.
There’s going to be more steps needed to bolster both coal and natural gas in this country, but this Executive Order is a great sign of things to come for American energy and the millions that have been negatively impacted by the War on Coal over the last eight years."
